Message from the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur
Datuk Mohmad Shaid bin Mohd. Taufek.

The introduction of a transport information system for Kuala Lumpur is timely and fits in well with the objectives of the proposed Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2020, which aims to improve the infrastructure of the city and the quality of life of its people.

As a city that is developing to meet the demanding needs of the 21st century, Kuala Lumpur requires an infrastructure that can bring it on par with major cities around the world if it is to be competitive in this era of globalisation.

City Hall Kuala Lumpur is continuously looking for ways to improve the lives of the people who inhibit the city. I believe the substantial investments the government is putting in infrastructure projects such as this, is no more than what is necessary in order for us to continue serving the needs of the community effectively.

Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS), will help reduce traffic congestion, improve the management of traffic and enhance public transportation. All these will also result in reduced air and noise pollution, thus providing a more conducive habitat for living, businesses, entertainment and sports.

ITIS will continue significantly towards the improved image and development of Kuala Lumpur as a World-Class City, and position it as a popular destination for tourists and investors from the world over.
